Well, it seems that we've got ourselves a brand new website!
www.aphase.org
(yeah, I'm posting the same news on two different sites :P)

Unbelievable amount of thanks to the people who made it happen, Regeneration, Lavish, Crushed and Oval! At least we got it done before Ulduar, and let's hope that the website also shows our level of dedication, and interest in the game.
No longer crappy free-hosted sites, eh?

Now all you need to do, is register on the forums, and harass an officer ingame, for member forum access.

Day 2 - Freya

In front of Ulduar, 1850 ST.

We still want this to happen this morning (I'm posting from California, it's still 10AM here!).
We're just trying to get on to the servers so we can watch like many of you.

Valadra of Argus

Posted by CanismajorisFebruary 11, 2009 at 9:14 am
Oh yeah, we actually tried Sartharion of the Nightfall achievement a few weeks back, just prior to Pelk's drinking holiday in the Canary Isles.
Setups and tactics needed quite a lot of adjusting, and after the tries being on hold for a week, we went again with a designed castergroup. Perhaps not of the best of ideas, but it's what we went for - as it seemed to work, having cracked the code last week, but just being unluckily unable to pull off the kill.
Another time of attempts were on last Sunday, just after our infamous The Immortal-chase - with only one death. But then again, at least somebody got a title - congratulations Demise the Mortal. It just didn't work after that disappointment, without the motivation or the mentality required.

Well, we gathered ourselves after a days break from raiding, on Tuesday, and finished the job:

And traditionally, or with the Gnome Mafia having something to do with it, looks like yours truly grabbed the guild's first Reins of the Black Drake!

And here's the picture of the drake in all it's glory:

As Blizzard ran out of ideas, Reins of the Black Drake bears terrible resemblance to Reins of the Traveler's Tundra Mammoth, but only with a slight difference: instead of Gnimo who repairs and buys shit, you have Valadra, <Beer Vendor> sitting there besides Hakmud of Argus!

Oh, joy!

Two out of The Big Three...

Yes. You read it correctly.
Heroic: You Don't Have An Eternity is ours along with the old Heroic: The Twilight Zone, effectively leaving only The Immortal from the The Big Three.

Took us merely two nights of actual practice, and what nights they were. Personal mistakes were extremely rare on both evenings, which made it the constant wiping and tuning the phases an actual joy.

Phase 1 dps was never an actual problem, 50% before the second vortex was a reality all the time, timing the second vortex just perfectly - Malygos landing and then re-elevating and flying up in the air.

Phase 2 was the tripping stone. That's where it all culminated. Less moving and less loss of dps was what we actually wanked for for the two evenings.

Phase 3 was a cake, 112 - the European emergency number as the rotation, with the minimum amount of healers popping the heals on surges.

And here it is:

The fawkin achievement window isn't even big enough for it!

Anyways, seems like it was our third realm first as well - and a solid World Top 300, Europe Top 150 kill as well.
As Heroic: You Don't Have An Eternity was actually made harder - even though they changed the 5-minute timeframe to 6 minutes, after the patch you cannot stack and keep the sparks alive as before, making the encounter actually a lot harder. Out of the 300 world-wide kills, less than 100 have killed Malygos in under 6 minutes after the 3.0.8 patch as progress achievement, making our work even more impressive! Good work guys!

Golden oldies...

..always worth a news post.

Scraprealmfirsts.

Our achievement-bore-hunting seems to be going just fine this reset as well, as we got a new one, Heroic: The Dedicated Few, Naxxramas 25-man bosses with less than 21 guys. Even though it was the first day of the reset, instance servers troubled with lag, clearing Naxxramas 25 with so few people in merely few hours, tells you something about the lack of content in WotLK and the level of difficulty related to the current raiding instances. Oh yeah, and it seemed to be a realm first as well.

On another note, another realm first achievement we seemed to get, though in the previous reset, was Heroic: A Poke In The Eye. Malygos 25 with less than 21 guys. It's not until now I realized that it was actually _something_, took us two tries, but it was the patch day when they slightly tuned Malygos a bit harder. Not to mention that I've actually heard that theres some Malygos-farming guilds having trouble with the new version of him after the patch. Quite nice. For us that is.

Let's see what the rest days of the reset bring - in Malygos 25 that is.

And of course, I wouldnt be posting news this often without getting to brag meself.

An unbelievable Wednesday fer me personally, as Last Laugh - the only upgrade from the whole of WotLK decided to drop after 10 kills of Kel'Thuzad - 10 goddamn weeks of farming.

Not only that, but lookie what got kind of lost in my way, or so to speak..

Let's hope my luck quota hasn't overloaded for the year.
